Conscious Gift Giving

If you give gifts over the holidays, consider how purchasing them from small, local businesses will support your heart and soul and that of the person you are gifting to, as well as the community you live in.
Rather than buying from big, impersonal and generic stores, support your local, small business owners. When you support small business, you're supporting a dream and it makes a huge difference.
Take a closer look at items in places you already go and feel how making your purchases from them will feed your soul. Expand the spirit of giving by supporting your community and businesses or business people that you already love.  

Think about us at CAM, your local yoga studio, shops in your town's main street area, friends who make art and jewelry, holiday craft fairs, gift certificates to local restaurants, etc. 

You can tell the people you gift to the story behind where you purchased it and then they will likely feel the gift has more heart to it which builds connection and meaning. This also engages you in building your community village feeling. Something many of us miss and yearn for!

Also consider what someone really wants to receive, and maybe they don't really want anything. Do you need to prove you care with a gift? Is gift giving coming from your heart or from conditioning of some sort? Maybe a holiday card with something heartfelt written in it would be more meaningful and potent.
