This study of 422 people who were suffering with seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) were tested to see if acupuncture would help them. Here's what happened:
Group 1 got acupuncture to treat their allergies + antihistamines, Group 2 got acupuncture not meant to treat allergies + antihistamines, and Group 3 got antihistamines only.
After 8 weeks and 12 treatments each, Group 1 had a significant reduction in symptoms and a reduced need for antihistamines compared to both Groups 2 and Group 3.
